The park, established in 2001 and still in development, is located within the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles.įounded by Artistic Director Yuval Sharon, who directed “Sweet Land” with Cannupa Hanska Luger, The Industry reinvented the opera in 2012 with the Los Angeles debut of “Crescent City,” which was credited with changing “the face of music-theater in this town overnight.” With “Sweet Land,” The Industry took on one of its largest creative projects to date, creating an immersive opera experience outdoors rather than in a traditional opera house.īeginning as a procession through LASHP, the opera separated the audience onto diverging tracks to experience different perspectives of history that spanned 32 acres of open space.
